WATERFALL Devlog #2

WATERFALL — Devlog #2
Hello, photographers!
It’s been a while since our last development update, so we thought it was finally time for a second devlog!
A lot has changed since the previous update, and we’re getting closer and closer to having something you’ll actually be able to play.
A Free Demo Is Coming
First of all, we have some big news.
Before the full release of WATERFALL, we’re planning to release a free demo version of the game.
The demo will include the main photography mechanics, the first two locations, several objectives to complete, an exclusive objective for completing the game, and, of course, GOOD MOOD ❗
The goal of the demo is to give you a proper first look at what WATERFALL is all about — exploring locations, finding interesting things to photograph, completing objectives, and building your collection of perfect shots.
The Second Location
We’ve now completed the framework for the second location, which is also the final location planned for the demo.
The basic structure is in place, and we’ve updated our location plan accordingly. There’s still plenty of work left to do, including vegetation, smaller details, environmental objects, and other things that will make the location feel more alive.
But the main framework is finally there.
Quests and Objectives
We’ve also started working on the game’s quests and objectives.
Right now, the system is a working prototype. It’s not finished yet, but it already gives us a good idea of how objectives will work in the game 🧿
We’ll continue expanding and improving the system as development goes on.

Wind
It might seem like a small addition, but it makes a noticeable difference to the atmosphere of the locations.
Plants and other environmental elements can now react to the wind, making the world feel less static and giving the locations a little more life.
We’ve also continued improving the visuals of the game in general, and there’s still more to come.

Development Progress
WATERFALL is currently around 25% complete.
There’s still a lot of work ahead, but we’re happy with how development is progressing.
The second demo location has its framework finished, the objective system is taking shape, and the overall direction of the game is becoming clearer.
If everything goes according to plan, it’s quite possible that the WATERFALL demo will be released by the end of this year!
Thank you for following the development of WATERFALL and supporting us along the way.
See you in the next devlog!
